The Blue Lagoon in Iceland is among the world’s most remarkable places, according to National Geographic. It is included in a list of 25 locations around the globe in the magazine’s special edition on wonders of the world.

According to ruv.is, the magazine is divided into three sections organizing the locations according to whether they are connected with air, land or water.
Other remarkable destinations and phenomena include the Sahara desert, the Norwegian fjords, the volcanoes in Hawaii and the northern lights.
The Blue Lagoon is described as a geothermal paradise where a turquoise world is surrounded by a black lava field reminiscent of the moon.
