The group exhibition “Could Delay Operations in Sudurnes” on behalf of the Iceland Academy of the Arts opened in the Sudsudvestur gallery in Keflavík earlier this month as a product of three years of expeditions to the region.
For the past three years 15 artists and art students of the academy have participated in research expeditions to the Sudurnes region, posed questions and gathered material for the expedition. In their artwork, humor, poetry and politics were used as means to define or reveal certain life values.
The artists in the exhibition use different forms of media to present their work, drawings, sculptures, paintings, videos, photographs, embroidery, sounds and performances.
The Sudsudvestur gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 pm and 5 pm. The “Could Delay Operations in Sudurnes” exhibition runs through October 5.
