Huge Increase in Post from China

A total of 78,000 deliveries arrived in Iceland via registered post from China and Hong Kong in the past year, up from 16,500 in 2012 – an increase of 80 percent – and around 12,000 in 2011.

In November 2013, for example, most packages arriving in Iceland were sent from China or Hong Kong, or 15,000 in total.

According to ruv.is, the increase is likely due to the popular website Ali Express, which sells various products from China.
