Last year a total of 842 books were published in Iceland, a new record.

Gísli á Uppsölum by Ingibjörg Reynisdóttir was the bestseller in Iceland last year. The book tells the story of a lone West Fjords farmer who passed away more than 20 years ago.

The bestselling book in Iceland in October was Lág kolvetna ljúfmeti: 100 léttir réttir, a low carb cook book by Swedish nutritionist Ulrika Davidsson.
