The number of hotel rooms in Reykjavík has doubled since the turn of the century.

There are currently 3,930 hotel rooms in Iceland’s capital, up from around 1,475 in 2000. The increase has been large in the last three years; the number of rooms has increased by 600, visir.is reports.
The 16-floor hotel which is scheduled to be built on Borgartún near the city center will add a further 340 rooms and a hotel next to Harpa concert and conference center 260.
