Horse World Masters: Five-Gait Final – Gold for Sweden

The final round in the five-gait test yesterday was firmly in Nordic hand: three Icelanders, two Danes and a Swede were fighting for the world title. In this test, all gaits are shown in pace. Magnús Skúlason on Hraunar frá Efri-Raudalæk ended up winning the gold medal for Sweden.

Some of the horses looked tired. Sigursteinn Sumarliðason on Skuggi frá Hofi only scored 5.0 for the gallop and a number of riders only achieved 6.5 for the step.

In racing pace, the last and most important gait, some of the horses had fluttering tongues and open mouths while not every rider delivered an elegant performance.

Julie Christensen on Straumur frá Skeljabrekku performed the task the most beautifully, while Magnús, four-time world champion racing pace and world champion in the five-speed testing, delivered a nice and fast performance in racing pace.
