Holtavörðuheiði mountain pass has been closed, due to a collision which occurred before 3 pm near Fornihvammur, RÚV reports. Holtavörðuheiði is in Northwest Iceland, on Ring Road One, and is the main passage between the north and south.
According to the Borgarnes Police, the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter has been called out. No information is available regarding injuries.
