Hollywood Records to Release Album by Icelandic Band

Hollywood Records is planning to release a studio album with ten to 12 songs by The Charlies, an Icelandic girl band, extending the original contract of a four-song EP. The plan is for the album to be released in the US early next year.

“This is fantastic news and we are all overcome with joy,” Steinunn Camilla, one of the band’s members, told Fréttabladid over the phone from Los Angeles where she and the other band members, Alma and Klara, live. They were given the news last week.

“The executives of Hollywood Records liked the material we have recorded until now and wanted to hear more,” Steinunn Camilla said. “There are few people lucky enough to get a record deal so we must be doing the right thing out here.”

The Charlies are working with some of the most famous producers in the world, including JR Rotem who has collaborated with stars such as Britney Spears and Rihanna.
