Hollywood director falls for Iceland

Morgunbladid reports that the Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino so liked his recent visit to Iceland that he is planning to come back in December and stay with friends over New Year’s. He might even shoot a movie about the Vikings since he is quite fascinated by them.

Morgunbladid quotes an employee of the Iceland Filmfestival saying they made sure that Tarantino had a good time in Iceland. “We had quite a program for him, he met with the minister of education and the president and then we took him on a ski-doo and to the pub Fjörukrá and made him a viking. He was really thrilled, the air, the water, the people, the pools and everything was just fabulous.” According to Morgunbladid, Tarantino was so thrilled that he proposed three or four ideas of his own for working with the Icelandic Film Festival so that he can visit more often.

Tarantino plans to bring a few famous Hollywood actors for a viewing of films from his private collection in Háskólabíó. He left Iceland with a drinking horn, Icelandic brennivín, skyr, cod liver oil and other delicacies.
