Annual salaries in Iceland are one of the highest in Europe, newspaper Bladid reports. Icelandic salaries are, on average, 37% higher than those in other European member states. Construction workers in Iceland are particularly well paid, receiving 63% more than the average European wage for construction work.
On the negative side, Icelanders need to work much longer hours for their salaries than their European counterparts do. And prices are high in Iceland.
