Herring Return to West Iceland Fjord

Herring have returned to Kolgrafafjörður, the West Iceland fjord where an estimated 50,000 tons of herring died late last year and earlier this year.

There are concerns for the fate of the fish, ruv.is reports.

Because the fish have been swimming inside the fjord, fishing has not gone particularly well today. The ship Heimaey VE caught around 500 tons while other boats have caught less or have not thrown out their nets.
