Bookings for private helicopter flight tours in Iceland has increased by 60 percent in the first five months of this year, according to Guðni Sigurðsson, spokesperson for air traffic services company Isavia.

Coast Guard helicopter flights have also increased by 179 percent due to the increase in tourists in Iceland and calls for assistance during their trip.
Popular places for flightseeing tours include Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area and Eyjafjallajökull glacier-volcano, Morgunblaðið reports.
