A small helicopter crash-landed on Mt. Esja which overlooks Reykjavík on Sunday evening. The two men onboard were unharmed and made it down the mountain on their own accord.

Members of the search and rescue team Flugbjörgunarsveitin traveled to the mountain with the helicopter’s owner and took it to the hanger of the Icelandic Aircraft Accident Investigation Board, which will try to determine what went wrong, Morgunbladid reports.
The rescue mission was conducted on three vehicles that were driven up a path which leads up the mountain from the lake Medalfellsvatn.
The weather was cold and stormy but the members of the convoy still managed to take the helicopter apart, place the pieces on a truck and drive it into town around 6 am yesterday morning.
