Yesterday morning, the usual 10 minute ride from Hafnarfjördur to Reykjavík took over 1 hour due to heavy snow and sleet. According to news reports, many people arrived late to work and school due to weather conditions.
This morning, Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV, reports that the police in the Greater Reykjavík Area were kept busy throughout the night assisting cars stuck in snow; the cars delaying traffic were usually ill prepared cars still using summer tires.
Early this morning the main roads in Reykajvík had been cleared but smaller streets can stil be difficult to navigate.
