Iceland’s Supreme Court has confirmed the verdict of the District Court of Reykjavík that the owner of sweets shop Draumurinn (The Dream) should be kept in custody until June 16. The man is suspected of selling drugs and more violations. In a house search at the shop and his dwellings some cocaine and 14 million ISK (110 thousand USD, 90 thousand Euros) in cash were found, mbl.is reports..
A police report that the verdict refers to says that in the past few months there have been repeated calls to police that the shop sells drugs. A search was made on the premises on Thursday. The owner claims he knows nothing about the cocaine, but only he and his son had access to the house. On the other hand he says the cash is his. He claims it is a payment for clearing out of a house that he had rented.
