Handball puppies

Dog owners in Reykjavík suburb Kópavogur named their three new-born puppies after Icelandic handball players Snorri Steinn, Markús Máni and Gudjón Valur.

The puppies were born in the home of Ragnar Reynisson and Rósa Gísladóttir shortly before the Handball World Championship in Germany began on January 20, as Morgunbladid reports.

“We were glued to the television when the Icelandic team was playing and we were especially excited about their winning game against France,” Gísladóttir said.

“After that game I said I wanted to name my boys [the puppies] after these beautiful and wonderful boys [the handball players] and therefore we named the puppies Gudjón Valur, Markús Máni and Snorri Steinn,” Gísladóttir explained.
