Half of All Sex Crimes Committed at Home

By Iceland Review

Half of all sex crimes committed during the first ten months of this year occurred at homes or on private properties, according to preliminary statistics for 2007 released last week by the Commissioner of the Icelandic Police.

So far, 234 sexual violations have been reported to police this year. Last year 230 such violations had been reported to police in the same time period and 240 in 2005.

Fifteen percent of sex crimes took place on roadways or parking lots and six percent at a public place of some sort, ruv.is reports.
