The Capital Region Police are still investigating the murder of Hannes Thór Helgason, who was stabbed to death in his home in Hafnarfjördur on August 15. The man who confessed to the murder is still in custody, which expires on Friday.

According to Fridrik Smári Björgvinsson, senior officer at the Capital Region Police investigative department, the results of the analysis of biological specimen found at the crime scene have yet to be received from Sweden, visir.is reports.
Furthermore, a psychiatric evaluation of Gunnar Rúnar Sigurthórsson, the man who confessed to the crime, has not been completed, Björgvinsson said.
