Icelandic martial arts athlete Gunnar Nelson won convincingly against American LaMarques Johnson in Nottingham, the U.K., on the weekend in his first appearance since signing with UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), Fréttablaðið reports.

“It’s very exciting, I’m very glad to be here and I’m very glad to win this fight,” Nelson told mmafighting.com.
Johnson was a late replacement for Pascal Krauss, taking the fight at 12 days’ notice despite recovering from a knockout on August 4.
UFC is the world’s largest professional mixed martial arts (MMA) organization and the fastest growing sports organization in the world. According to the organization’s website, it hosts most of the top-ranked fighters in the world.
