Gunman Arrested in Southwest Iceland

The Special Forces of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police were called out because of a man who fired a gun outside his house in Thorlákshöfn, southwest Iceland, on Saturday night.

The man was arrested and questioned yesterday but police authorities decided not to take him into custody, reports.

The man, who is in his thirties, was not considered to have threatened the safety of anyone but himself but to be in need of psychiatric medical assistance.
