Guinness Book World Record Voyage Heads for Iceland

Ralph and Robert Brown, two brothers in their 50s, set out from Tampa Florida on June 27 in a seven-meter “flats boat” (no cabin, no keel) to set several international Guinness Book World Records. They are currently in Tasiilaq, Greenland, and are headed for Iceland.

The voyagers expect to arrive in Reykjavík tomorrow. They will then continue to Vík, Iceland’s southernmost settlement, on August 14 or 15, and from there to Scotland, a press release states. They plan to arrive in Frankfurt, Germany, later this month.

The media coverage on the trip has allowed the brothers to raise money for the Wounded Soldier foundations, as they say, “for these heroes who defend freedom around the world.”

The voyage’s progress can be monitored on its official website.
