The National Museum of Iceland invites visitors to join a guided tour in Russian through the exhibition “Making of a Nation – Heritage and History in Iceland” on Sunday, April 10, at 2 pm. The tour is free of charge.

On Tuesday, April 12, at 12:05 pm Hördur Geirsson from the Akureyri Museum will give a lecture (in Icelandic) on the flash photography of Bárdur Sigurdsson, whose pictures of old Icelandic farm life are currently on display (and featured in the latest issue of Iceland Review).
He will show pictures and drawings of the oldest flash photographs known in Iceland and cover Sigurdsson’s 3D pictures. Attendees will get the chance to observe over 100-year-old stereoscope pictures in the best possible conditions and quality with new glasses.
Attendance is free and all are welcome.
Meanwhile, on Sunday at 2 pm, there will be a clay workshop at the museum Ásmundarsafn in Reykjavík, dedicated to sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson.
The workshop, led by Haraldur Jónsson, is designed for the whole family in relation to the museum’s two current exhibitions.
