Gudjohnsen’s goal not enough to save Barcelona

Iceland’s star footballer, Eidur Smári Gudjohnsen, scored the winning goal for his team Barcelona in a game against Liverpool in the European Premier League yesterday. Despite his goal, Barcelona did not make it to the quarter finals.

Although Barcelona won yesterday’s game in Liverpool’s home court 1-0, it was not enough to secure a place in the quarter finals. Fréttabladid reports.

Liverpool had won their previous game at Barcelona’s home court 2-1 and as it had scored more goals in a foreign court than Barcelona it got more points in total.

Gudjohnsen entered the game at the 71st minute and scored the goal four minutes later.
