The punctuality of Icelandic airlines at Keflavík International Airport has greatly improved, according to new statistics published on the website turisti.is.
It states that last summer the airport was not comparable with the largest airports of the other Nordic countries where 90 percent of all aircraft took off at the scheduled time as the ratio in Keflavík dropped to 45 percent in one period, visir.is reports.
However, so far this year, late departures have been rare; in the latter part of March, 94 percent of Icelandair’s planes departed at the scheduled time and 87 percent of planes by Iceland Express.
This development is especially notable in the case of Iceland Express, which has been criticized for dismal performance when it comes to punctuality on earlier occasions.
