Goose crashes through windshield

A goose crashed through the windshield of a car driven by a 19-year-old woman near Gullfoss waterfalls in south Iceland on Monday. The woman was alone in the car and was not harmed, but the goose died.

“It happened very fast. I was just driving along when I saw a goose flying towards me. I thought it was flying quickly and I tried to slow down, but then it just crashed straight through my windshield,” Hulda Sigurdardóttir, the car’s driver, told Morgunbladid.

After crashing through the windshield the goose fell into the passenger seat.

“The goose squawked and squawked and I just screamed back at it. When it stopped squawking I calmed down,” Sigurdardóttir added and explained the goose had then fallen onto the floor and died.

“I didn’t stop the car, just carried on driving and drove to Gullfoss Café where I work. There my friend removed the goose from the car,” Sigurdardóttir said.

The goose was large and the windshield was completely destroyed after the accident. The car was also covered in goose blood and feathers and was towed to Reykjavík.
