Good Second Rehearsal for Iceland at Eurovision

María Ólafsdóttir, Iceland’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, says she is very happy with how Iceland’s second rehearsal went—adding that it went much better than the first run through in Vienna.

María told RÚV that everyone in the group had tried to go to Vienna as prepared as possible, but that the whole Eurovision experience is much bigger than she had imagined.

There are two semi-final shows, on Tuesday and Thursday, with Iceland taking part in the second one and hoping to make it through to the grand final on Saturday night. Now the group has a few days to relax, before rehearsing for the final time on Wednesday.

María will be the 12th act to perform on Thursday evening with her song Unbroken. Click here to see the music video.

According to the singer, the rehearsal mostly went without a hitch this time round, though the group is still fine-tuning small issues. Overall, she says, she is satisfied.

She says that many people have tried to explain to her just how big Eurovision is. “But it is much bigger than I imagined – it is really difficult and the pressure is high, but it is really fun too,” she said at the press conference after the rehearsal; where she was also asked to sing Unbroken in Icelandic.
