Last year 67 percent of university graduates in Iceland were women, as stated in a report comparing statistics from the Nordic countries, Nordic Statistical Yearbook 2012, released by Statistics Denmark today.

Sweden is the Nordic country that comes closest to Iceland in this respect, ranking second with 63 percent of university graduates comprising of ‘the weaker sex,’ mbl.is reports.
For the last ten years the percentage of woman enrolled in academic degrees has increased in Iceland with social sciences, business and law being the areas of study with the biggest growth.
