The Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 15-21, kicked off in Iceland yesterday as in many other locations around the world. The goal is to encourage people to be innovative.
This year a Startup Weekend will be held for the first time in Iceland at the end of the week. It is a workshop with tutors from the US who will inform participants on how to launch innovative businesses and form a marketing strategy, Fréttabladid reports.
Kristján Freyr Kristjánsson at Innovit is organizing the event. He said participants are a mixed group of people.
“There are three groups, in fact: members of the public who are interested in innovation, university students and employees of startup companies who want to develop their own ideas,” he said.
The workshop is 54 hours of business development, November 19-21. On Friday the best ideas will be presented and then they will be worked on throughout the weekend. Landsbanki is cooperating with Innovit on the initiative’s organization.
