A young girl was killed, another seriously injured and the third escaped with minor injuries when they were hit by a personal vehicle on the road Langeyrarvegur in Siglufjörður, north Iceland, shortly after 10 pm yesterday evening.
The accident occurred when they had just stepped out of a bus and were crossing the street. Two of the girls were taken with an ambulance to the hospital in Akureyri where one of them was announced dead and the other admitted to the ICU, visir.is reports.
The third girl was allowed to return home after being treated at the local healthcare center. The investigative department of the Akureyri police is responsible for the accident’s investigation.
