Geysir Entrance Fee Debate Continues

The law firm Landslög has sent the Land Owners Association of Geysir a letter from the government, where they reiterate their opposition to an entrance fee at Geysir.

“As said before, the area inside the enclosure field is owned by the state, according to assignment of property from 1935. The area outside this area is jointly owned by the Icelandic state and the Land Owners Association of Geysir,” the letter reads.

The letter states that the land owners cannot collect fees without the consent of the Icelandic state, mbl.is reports.
