German Tourist Lost And Found

A German tourist called for assistance in Mývatnssveit area in North Iceland after getting lost in a thick fog; he was in the vicinity of Námaskard pass. The Police department in Húsavík, a small coastal town in North Iceland, assisted the man.

The man departed at 7 am on Tuesday from a lodge located near Eilífsvötn lakes in Mývatnsöraefum higlands and planned to hike to Mývatn lake, reports. The Húsavík Police department assisted the man via phone and he made his way back to safety around noon yesterday.

He was traveling alone but was well equipped with a tent and supplies, ví reports.
