German hardware store in Reykjavík

German hardware store Bauhaus has reached an agreement with the City of Reykjavík regarding the construction of a 24,500 square meter building by the road Vesturlandsvegur near Úlfarsfell in Reykjavík.

According to Fréttabladid, Bauhaus will pay ISK 818 million (EUR 9 million, USD 12 million) for the lot where the store will be located and the City has agreed to established a preliminary connection with water and electricity installations by May.

A permanent connection is to be established by September, as well as a connection to the local road system.
