Around 1,600 guests visited the geothermal energy exhibition at Hellisheiði power plant just outside the capital area on Thursday, a new record.

Many of the tourists arrived in Iceland by the cruise ship Mein Schiff, which is currently anchored at Reykjavík harbor, Morgunblaðið reports.
The exhibition center is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day.
