The objective is to create a space for people to come together and share a moment while extending their condolences to friends and families of the fallen victims, mbl.is reports.
Max Dager, the director of the Nordic House and Norway’s ambassador to Iceland Dag Wernø Holter will say a few words, and priest Jón Dalbú Hróbjartson will address the assembly; Ellen Kristjánsdóttir and Eythór Gunnarsson will also perform a couple of songs.
The memorial guestbooks will be brought from the Norwegian Embassy for people to sign during the gathering; next week the books will be sent to Norway. A memorial guestbook has also been placed in the Akureyri city hall in North Iceland where dozens have already signed it, mbl.is reports.
