Filming for Game of Thrones has previously taken place in Northern Ireland, Croatia, Malta, and Morocco, among others.

It is currently not confirmed where the filming will take place, but previous film locations have included Snæfellsjökull, Mývatn, Grjótagjá, Reynisfjara, and Jökulsárlón, among others. The crew working on set is reported to be mainly comprised of Icelanders, with some fulfilling roles in the show.
