The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will be filmed partly in Iceland in February. Vísir reports. Filming commenced elsewhere a few weeks ago and is expected to last until summer.
Filming will take a few days, although the exact locations haven’t been decided. A major factor in that decision will be snow conditions, and the preparation will be substantive. The majority of the film crew will be Icelandic, and some of the main cast will be expected to take part.
Iceland has been an important location for Game of Thrones since the second season, serving as the setting for the frozen lands beyond the Wall, as well as a few locations such as the Eyrie and Essos.
