Director of television series Game of Thrones Brian Kirk has been selected to direct an American remake of the Icelandic film Jar City (Mýrin) by Baltasar Kormákur. The story is based on the book of the same name by Arnaldur Indriðason.
Baltasar told ruv.is that Kirk had secured the rights to remake the film.
In other film news, the Norwegian version of Icelandic comedy series Næturvatkin (‘the Night Shift’), premieres on Norwegian television station TV2, ruv.is reports.
