Game of Thrones Crew Happy with Icelandic Weather

The crew of the U.S. medieval fantasy television series Game of Thrones is currently taking place in the Mývatn region in Northeast Iceland. Shooting began at Kálfaströnd on Friday and will be completed in three days.

According to Snorri Páll Þórisson at Pegasus, the Icelandic film production company servicing the crew, everything is running smoothly and the crew is satisfied with the circumstances and weather conditions, ruv.is reports.

Around 200 people are involved in the project and so accommodation in the region is fully booked, which is unusual for this time of year.

The Game of Thrones crew filmed in South Iceland last year but opted for a different location this time, as snowfall is more likely in the north.
