Game of Thrones Crew Finish Shooting in Iceland

Filming of scenes for the U.S. television series Game of Thrones wrapped up in Northeast Iceland on Saturday and to celebrate, the crew was planning a party at Hótel Gígur by Lake Mývatn.

Snorri Þórisson at film production company Pegasus, that serviced the crew, told ruv.is that everything had run smoothly. As many as 200 people were involved in the shooting.

The third series of Game of Thrones will premiere on March 31, 2013, in the U.S. but a date has yet to be set for a premiere in Iceland.

The series will now go into post production. Shooting also took place in Northern Ireland and Croatia.
