Tonight, winds will be blowing from the east at 15-23 m/sec, windiest in the northern headlands and in the West Fjornds, along with increased precipitation. Temperatures will range between 0° and 10°C (32°-50°F), mildest in the southwest. Heavy rain will continue in East Iceland tomorrow.

Ring Road One in Southeast Iceland, from Gígjukvísl river (near Lómagnúpur and in the west to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in the east, is closed due to the gale. Wind gusts in the area have reached up to 47 m/sec. The closure will likely be in effect until 3 pm.
