The Icelandic Met Office has issued a weather warning for Breiðafjörður, the West Fjords, and Northwest Iceland today.
Southeastern gales of up to 30-35 m/s are expected around Breiðafjörður, especially on the northern side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The gusts will be followed by sleet and rain.
In the West Fjords, gales are expected in the Southeast and East, as well as blowing snow. Visibility is expected to be poor.
Northwest Iceland can expect wind of 15-23 m/s, as well as difficult road conditions.
