French Film Festival Begins Friday

The 15th annual French Film Festival in Háskolabíó cinema in Reykjavík begins on Friday January 23.

The festival will open with the 2014 film Serial (Bad) Weddings (Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au Bon Dieu?) by Philippe de Chauveron. The description on IMDb reads “ a Catholic French couple sees their life upside down when their four daughters get married to men of different religion and origins.”

A total of ten films will be screened during the festival, which runs until February 2. Other films include comedy The Smell of Us (2015) by Larry Clark, drama-fiction The Finishers (2014) by Niels Tavernier and dramedy The Bélier Family (2014) by Eric Lartigau.

In recent years, the festival, which is organized by the French Embassy in Reykjavík, Alliance Française and Green Light Films, has attracted roughly 10,000 people each time.
