Free Rock Festival Coming Up in West Fjords

The twelfth annual Aldrei fór ég suður free rock festival will take place in Ísafjörður, the West Fjords during the long Easter weekend, April 2-4, with concerts, standups and other events. Around 60 musicians are scheduled to perform.

The program includes concerts by Júníus Meyvant, Gudrid Hansdottir, Himbrimi, and Valdimar Guðmundsson on Good Friday. Saturday is the main day with performers such as Mugison—the festival’s founder—Prins Póló and Amabadama, skutull.is reports.

Valgeir Guðjónsson of legendary band Stuðmenn will be the 2015 festival’s special guest of honor. The festival concludes on Sunday with a symposium on various issues concerning the Icelandic music industry. For further information, visit aldrei.is.
