A number of Icelandic musicians performed for free in Laugardalshöll concert hall in Reykjavík on Saturday to encourage people to stick together and remain positive despite the economic crisis.
According to Daníel Sigurdarson, a Laugardalshöll staff member, nearly 5,000 people attended the concert. “The atmosphere was nice, very nice,” he told Fréttabladid.
Both young and established musicians performed during the concert, including rocker and troubadour Bubbi Morthens, members of one of the longest-living bands in Iceland, Studmenn, punkers Ham, and singer-songwriters Lay Low and Ragnheidur Gröndal.
