The Icelandic women’s U-17 soccer team came fourth in the European U-17 Championship; the team lost both games in the semi-finals. They played against Spain on Thursday and against Germany yesterday.

The final score in Thursday’s match was 0-4 for Spain and 2-8 for Germany in yesterday’s game. Telma Thrastardóttir and Aldís Kara Lúdvíksdóttir scored the goals in yesterday’s game, rúv.is reports.
Fourth place is the best result an Icelandic national team has seen in a European Championship and the future in the women’s soccer is bright in Iceland. Rúv, the Icelandic Broadcasting Company, will show clips from the match this evening.
