US magazine Fortune Small Business covers Icelandic fashion designer Steinunn Sigurdardóttir’s business in the section “Small Business Makeover” in its latest issue, where small-scale companies are provided with marketing tips.

In the interview, Sigurdardóttir says that she is keen on opening stores with her design around the US in the next five years but that she lacks sufficient funding and the right connections to expand her business into the US market.
Sigurdardóttir told Fréttabladid that she considers herself lucky being covered by the magazine. “It happened because the producer of CNN.com bought clothing from my collection in Boston and thought it would be clever to write about a small company from Iceland and put it into this process.”
“It was a very long and extensive interview and the purpose is to help me achieve my goal. Then they will keep following my progress,” Sigurdardóttir explained. “The interview by itself is very good advertisement, so I consider myself lucky to have gotten this coverage.”
