Foreign Tourists Want Cold Christmas in Iceland

Icelandic hotels have been busy during this holiday season. While Icelanders flock to warm and sunny countries to spend their holidays, the Icelandic winter seems to attract foreign tourists in growing numbers who are hoping for white Christmas.

According to ruv.is, the largest hotels in Reykjavík accommodated between 30 and 140 guests each on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Dionne Walker from London told ruv.is she found the Icelandic Christmas very appealing, primarily because of the cold weather. She spent her Christmas Eve at the Blue Lagoon with her husband, where they had dinner in the evening.
