Football foal

By Iceland Review

A foal was born on Laekjamót, a farm in northwest Iceland last summer, on the day before Italy and France met in the World Cup Finals, with dots shaped as the two countries on either side.

The foal is a bay skewbald filly, brown with white dots. On its left side the white dot resembles a map of Italy, while on its right side the pattern looks like France, as reported in horse breeding magazine Eidfaxi International.

According to the foal’s owners, Ísólfur Líndal Thórisson and Vigdís Gunnarsdóttir, the foal would at first only have its French side pictured, but after Italy won the game, it turned its left side to the camera.

The owners felt they could not name their football foal anything but Ítalía (“Italy”).
