Food Market in Iceland’s Capital

A market carrying local food and specialty products will be held at Lækjartorg square in the heart of Reykjavík every Saturday in July between 11 am and 4 pm. Available food products include bread, pastries, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, olives, beef jerky and ready-made dishes.

To add to the atmosphere, live music will be performed at the market. White Signal will be the first band to play on July 6, as stated in a press release from the City of Reykjavík.

Twelve sales booths are planned at Lækjartorg during the market days.

The project is organized by Eirný Sigurðardóttir, owner of deli store Búrið. Other participants include Sæluostar úr sveitinni, Svandís, Kandís, Saltverk, Sandholt and Bergsson mathús.
