Food and Fun Celebrated in Reykjavík

The ninth annual gourmet festival Food and Fun will be held in Reykjavík February 24-28. A number of foreign chefs and journalists will come to the country because of the festival, according to master chef Sigurdur Hall, the festival’s organizer.

This year’s honorary chef is Rene Redzepi, who is the owner and head chef of the restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, which was recently named the world’s third best restaurant, Morgunbladid reports.

Hall described Redzepi as the leader of the new Nordic cuisine, which is becoming increasingly popular.

Twelve chefs will compete during the festival in 12 different restaurants in Reykjavík, although more chefs will also come to observe and have a good time.
